Hand crafted chef's tools, made in Chicago.
About me
Soigné is the stuffy, expensive facade (tweezers, white aprons, crazy prices) marketed to the people who can afford it, not the cooks doing the work. I'm against that whole hierarchy, the ego, the boss profiting off the line's work. Swan Yay is my flip of it, made affordable and handed back to the people actually doing the craft. So that's why I started this. I am a cook by trade and semi-pro crafter. I spent six years cooking in professional kitchens. I've always had a passion for making things, and I'm a generalist. I like learning whatever the craft needs, whether it be sewing, embroidery, welding, woodworking or stained glass. Eventually I found a way to merge those interests with the culinary side, knife covers and other kitchen tools. My goal is to make functional, affordable and stylish products, with an importance on doing as much of the process myself. Made with love in Chicago.
